I. Introduction.

Do you and your friend know Morse Code? Now you can chat with your buddies easily! Even if you don't know Morse Code, you can still create a code of your own, allowing you to contact your pal with ease.

Bond Link is a straightforward app that allows you to "message" your friends with your Garmin. How it works: Tap the screen to compose a rhythmic message. When you're done, send it! The person you've sent it to can then receive a series of vibrations, similar to the ones you tapped on your watch.

This application is extremely useful during the current pandemic.  While it can't replace in-person interactions, it can help you to stay connected with a loved one, while keeping both parties safe.

II. Setup.

Setup isn't too hard, just follow these steps.

A. Open Bond Link on your watch.

B. Head down to "Share," then press "ID". Scan the QR code with your phone, and send it to your friend. 

C. Have your friend send you their "ID".

D. Open Garmin Connect Mobile.

E. Navigate to Bond Link Settings:

1. Tap the picture of your watch.

2. Tap "Activities & App Management"

3. Tap "Activities & Apps"

4. Tap "Bond Link"

5. Tap "Settings"

F. Enter your friend's name, and paste their ID into the settings.

G. Press Save

III. Usage

Bond Link is still in BETA mode, so make sure to update it often to get the best user experience.

To send a rhythmic message, simply open Bond Link, tap "Send a Message", tap your friend's name, and start tapping the screen.  Once you're done, slide left to send the message, or slide up to discard it.

To receive a message, start at the main menu and tap "Check For Message." Tap the screen to receive your message. The message should play automatically, and may display the person who sent you the message. NOTE: This should play the oldest message that you haven't read.  You may need to tap the screen 2 or 3 times to read all of your pending messages.

Notification Interval:  To get notified that you have messages pending, open Bond Link, go down to settings, and turn on Fetch Messages.  Now, tap "Fetch Interval" until the label displays how often you would like to be notified.

Update 0.1.0 - Already Released

Easier navigation, with more than one screen.

Push notifications, with options to fetch new messages as often as every 30 minutes.

Dark Mode!

Update 0.2.0 - Already Released

This update includes the option to share your user ID much easier.  Now, instead of going to settings and copying and pasting your ID, you can simply scan a QR code and send it to your friend. Now your friend can copy the ID straight from the text and put it into their settings.

Option to message multiple people.

Ability to tell who a message is from.

Maps4Garmin is an app that is available for you to download on your Garmin device.  It allows users to view a map of their location, and for a small fee, allows users to view the weather radar as well.
